The “vegetable” Island of Reichenau in Lake Constance, since 2000 a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a fascinating interplay between vegetable cultivation and world famous monastery architecture.
The people of Reichenau have remained faithful to their island and culture: they have their own dialect, their own public holidays, a self-assured hospitality and a humour that is least as dry as the wines cultivated here.
